Friends, get ready because we are about to reveal the most “shocking” secret after the one kept at home by P. Diddy: the MUDDLY and UNEXPECTED connection between corsets and our favorite pop stars! Yes, you understood correctly, that piece of fabric that seems to have come straight from grandma’s wardrobe (but in a spicy version) has infested the most iconic music videos.

Let’s start with the undisputed Queen of “but who dressed you? Oh, was it you? Well, congratulations!”: Lady Gaga. From her most extreme outfits to her slightly more “normal” looks (so to speak, eh!), the corset is always there, a bit of battle armor to face the world of paparazzi and acid comments on social media. Basically, if Gaga hadn’t worn a corset at least once a day, it would be like seeing a smile on Melania’s lips during the 2025 elections; IMPOSSIBLE.

And then there’s her, the queen bee of long ponytails and cotton candy clouds: Ariana Grande. Who remembers her super sexy space look in “Break Free”? That’s right, the galactic corset that STARTS FIRING ROCKETS FROM THE CHEST!

Yes, you read that right, right from that area strategically “contained” by its faithful ally: the space corset. But seriously, who had this BRILLIANT idea? Maybe the costume designer had run out of standard rocket holders and thought: “Yeah, let’s stick them in the corset, it’s so tight, they’ll stay put!”.

But why ALL this obsession with this stuff that looks so uncomfortable like wearing a tight cast all day? Well, my friends, the corset is POWER. It’s a way of saying “hey world, I have killer curves and I’m not afraid to show them off!”. It’s a bit like liking the 2016 post of the boy you like: a bold move.

So, the next time you see a pop star sporting a corset that would make Cruella De Vil jealous, remember: it’s not just a piece of fabric. It’s a manifesto, a tribute to “so sexy it hurts” and, let’s face it, a very clever way to get people talking about you.
